The Barito River Initiative for Nature Conservation and Communities (BRINCC) and the UK Climate Change Unit at the British Embassy of Jakarta kindly invite you to attend an awareness and fundraising event at the Embassy on Tuesday 24th June 2014, 5-7pm.
BRINCC is a UK-based, independent, scientific organization working with local communities in the remote Heart of Borneo to protect some of the last remaining primary rainforest ecosystems and train the next generation of Indonesian conservationists.
Following a four-month research expedition in 2011, BRINCC is undertaking a follow-up expedition this summer to study biodiversity and work with local communities to map the areas important to their lives.
You are invited to come and meet the team, and hear more about the local communities living in this remote region and the difficulties of work in such remote regions. We will also screen a short film of the last expedition and offer a chance for you to support the next generation of Indonesian conservationists to gain new skills and enhance their knowledge.
Please see www.brinccborneo.org
Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. For security purposes, please RSVP to Michal Zrust (email@example.com) by 20 June at the latest, those not on an approved guest list will not be permitted entry. Electronic devices can be safely stored with security. Photographic identification will be required.
We look forward to welcoming you at the event.
